This is exactly what I was looking for - the best, functional back scratcher! I bought this as a gift because I wanted to support a local New England shop. My boyfriend said he loves this back scratcher and uses it every day.

Grampa's back rake
The quality and length of the rake are great, it's the shape that's lacking. In order to scratch the center of my back, the part I can't reach with my own fingernails, my arm needs to be up with my hand BEHIND my head or my arm needs to be down with my hand BEHIND the small of my back. If I want any pressure, I need the other arm to push on my upraised elbow to get it. I can still do this, but my hubby with inflexible shoulders has trouble. Much longer tines, (which I know does put them at risk of breaking), pointier tines, and/or a curved handle would make this worthy of an excellent rating.
