You need to use a thicker material. I have had to sew up holes in every one (about 4 or 5) of these shawls that I purchased.

Plaid body shawl
This is our 3rd body shawl over about 20 years, in addition to gifts to family & friends. It's a great addition to our medical supplies. The weight and fabric also make it a soft comfortable item to sleep with even when not microwaved/frozen. We like the sturdy plaid flannels, and haven't tried the other fabrics.

This body shawl is just the BEST! In fact, this is my second one as I left my old one (it had quite a few years of wear so needed a new one anyway) at a hotel. I always travel with it as it helps after a long day in the car. It stays warm for quite awhile and since it is large, goes over many body parts at once. Just LOVE this item.
